Tue, 16 October 2007 004 Amstertandem 2007_10_15 London to Amsterdam Audio Diaries part 2.mp3Welcome to the last episode of the Amstertandem Podcast series.
This is the second part of my audio diaries from London to Amsterdam.
We start with a quick listen to the sounds of Amsterdam, with it’s sounds; people and bells. Along with some of my impressions (as a blind person), as to the difficulty of navigating the city, with it’s cobbled streets; tram tracks and canals (which are all too easy to fall into)!
Then we take in some of the sites of the city via a guided tour along said canals on a barge.
Next: a quick trip on a tram and a bit of Argentinean food.
We then hear about Anne Frank. If you don’t know anything about her, listen in and find out all about this amazing girl who kept a diary chronicling her life in hiding as a Jew under Nazi rule in Amsterdam during the second world war.
We end this very memorable trip with a conversation with a good humoured Dutch taxi driver and a very condensed flight back to Birmingham.
…And don’t forget that you can still donate to the Motor Neurone Disease Association; become involved in one of their challenges yourself, or, just find out more about what they do at:
…And finally, a huge thank you to all of the people we had the absolute pleasure of getting to know. You know who you all are and I sincerely hope that we will meet again in the future.
Don’t forget to look out for other Podcasts in the Vipodcasting family.
